    Installation Instructions

    1. Insert the DVD disc in your optical drive. It should appear on your desktop. Do NOT click on it.
    2. Restart your mac.
    3. As soon as you hear the startup chime press and hold the option [ALT] key on your keyboard.
    4. Choose start from optical drive/DVD symbol.

    Old MacBook Pro Recovery

    Unable to use MacBook. Got Mountain Lion Reinstall DVD from Software Recovery (Mountain Lion no longer supported by Apple). I did not find it a straightforward process. After watching help videos on YouTube I eventually got there. Once Mountain Lion was correctly installed the MacBook updated to IOS Catalina which was the latest available software supported by that model of MacBook Pro.
    So now all is good thank you,
